Jennifer Johnson, MA, LCPC

Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s most difficult challenges. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois and her M.A. in Community Counseling from Loyola University Chicago.

Throughout her career, Jennifer has supported clients in a variety of settings, including an outpatient substance abuse center, hospice care as a bereavement counselor, and private practice. She has extensive experience working with grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions.

Jennifer’s therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, and interactive. She integrates evidence-based approaches—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness—with compassion and meaning-making to help clients manage stress, shift unhelpful thought patterns, and build healthy coping skills. She is especially dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for adolescents and adults in individual therapy.

With a particular passion for grief counseling, Jennifer has a deep interest in how grief intersects with addiction, pet loss, sibling loss (including twin loss), and the complexities of the grieving process. Her personal experience with the loss of her twin sibling, along with other significant losses, has profoundly shaped her work and inspired her commitment to walking alongside others in their healing journeys.

Outside of her practice, Jennifer enjoys yoga, gardening, long walks with her dogs, reading, and spending time with her family.
