Parenting Group
Parenting is one of the greatest joys in life, but also can be one of the most challenging. This group will help parents learn techniques to form strong relationships with their children and help parents navigate the daily difficulties of child-rearing. Discussions will address, but are not limited to: eating, potty training, healthy sleep habits, sibling rivalry, and discipline. The group will be tailored to meet the needs of the group members.
To maximize the group benefit, members will be asked to make a commitment to at least 4 sessions. Brief phone interviews will be conducted with all potential group members to explore particular interests and good fit for the group.
When: Tuesdays
Time: 10 am to 11:30 am
Where: 1263 W. Loyola, Chicago, IL, 773-274-4600, information@griefcounselor.org.
Leader: Catherine Boyce, Ph.D., LCSW
Fee: $45.00 per session
This on-going group accepts new members at any time. Please contact the Center with questions to arrange an initial phone interview.
Clothes to the Heart: A Bereavement Workshop
Imagine a place, a way, a community where the exploration of your grief is invited. Imagine using art as a means to explore and express
your loss and your grief. Clothes to the Heart invites you to transform articles of clothing from the deceased into pieces of art that
inform and illuminate your process.
Grief Recovery Therapy Group
Participants learn about the grieving process and help themselves form a bridge to the future. Although grief is a normal human
experience, each person's grief experience is subtly different. Our group helps you understand your loss and express the many feelings
that come with change. Any person who has suffered the loss of a significant relationship should attend:
parent, sibling, spouse, child, or other relative or friend who would benefit from sharing with others. Let us help you regain
your balance as you learn to re-engage in life in a new way.
Spirituality in the Workplace: An On-Going Exploration
Explore the ways in which spiritual fulfillment can emerge in your work life, and build community with others searching for deeper
meaning.
