Grief Counseling and Bereavement ServicesINDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
We use both traditional and experiential methods to help individuals find their own growth path.
Our Licensed clinicians help people face emotionally intense issues and life transitions within
a respectful and safe environment. A warm relationship develops with our experienced Psychologists
and Social Workers. The course of therapy is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. THERAPY FOR PROFESSIONALS
GROUP THERAPY
Participants learn about the grieving process, and help themselves form a
bridge to the future. Persons who have suffered the loss of a significant relationship: parent, sibling,
spouse, child, or other close relative or friend, are invited to share with others. All of our groups
are led by professionals, and we do not offer self-help groups. NEW GROUPS FORM PERIODICALLY. Contact: David Fireman, LCSW at 773 274-4600. HEALING OUR LOSSES GROUPThis group offers a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and heal grief and loss within a group context that supports, validates, confronts, pushes, and catalyzes participants to grow and heal from the pain of their loss and to become more alive, whole, and renewed. Participants take part in a 12-week therapeutic group based in grief therapy theory and practice, and an understanding of groups from several theoretical frameworks. Participants enter a process to understand grief, how it has affected them, and how they can work through their grief. The group context offers a supportive environment where participants’ problems and issues can be universalized, feedback can be given to aid change and understanding, and a sense of communal support can be deeply felt. Led by group therapist Tom Undine, LCSW. Tom has over ten years’ experience working with groups in therapeutic contexts. He has worked with death and loss centered groups in private practice, outpatient clinics, psychiatric hospitals, and residential programs. He provides a sound, professional, and profoundexperience for those seeking to heal from loss. COUPLES COUNSELING
Many couples are stressed by emotionally intense situations. Others simply drift apart or grow apart.
It can be very difficult to keep a strong emotional bond in our fast-paced, ever-changing society.
Our staff are sensitive to the various complex issues that create distance within intimate relationships,
and we work to help couples continue growing. CONSULTATION & SUPERVISION
We offer professionals an opportunity to obtain consultation or supervision from our Licensed Clinical
Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers and Certified Music Therapist. All of our clinicians have
extensive training and experience in helping professionals achieve their full potential. The complexities
of ever-changing organizations, complicated clients, and expanded professional responsibilities, forces us
to seek more help in keeping our balance at work in order to feel good about our work identity. SPEAKERS BUREAU
Our staff has expertise in many different areas. We offer training and speakers regarding a wide variety
of topics on grief and bereavement. We also lead trainings on administration and supervision as well as
newer therapeutic methods such as Guided Imagery. We have speakers on other topics such as Caregiving
for the Elderly, Transpersonal Psychology, and Adolescents. COMMUNITY SERVICES
As a nonprofit agency we provide some free community services. The most recent example is this website
which will have more and more offerings for the professional and lay communities. Check out our sections:
